Stephen’s story together with mine as his mother and carer will be invaluable to people with supportive roles in schools, e.g. school counselors, teachers and support workers as part of their developing understanding of children with talents but who don’t quite fit in or gain peer acceptance. It would seem of even more value to those with supportive roles with older adolescents and young adults. It would be of great value to those people charged with providing direct services to individuals facing some of the very complex multiple issues that Stephen faced...It will offer comfort and knowledge to parents.

   Helen has worked in early childhood development for many years. Supporting parents and children with early years development, and working with children who have disabilities and learning difficulties.

   A step forward into understanding mental illness and recognition of early childhood differences.
